Solar “Robo-Calls” Violate Do Not Call List

A recent story in USA Today covered a case of solar “robo-calling”. Three California-based companies have been accused of calling homeowners who have registered on the Do Not Call list.  The penalty for violating this registry is $16,000 per violation. In the case of these companies, the total fine amount would be over $2 billion!

As more and more solar companies pop up, it’s inevitable that names begin to sound alike. Unfortunately, one of the companies named in this case happens to have a similar name to ours. Sunlight Solar Energy, Inc. is not affiliated in any way with Sunlight Solar Leads LLC.

We often hear lamentations from homeowners who are overwhelmed with phone calls, and being bombarded by salespeople at the most inconvenient times.

At Sunlight Solar Energy, our philosophy does not include cold calling or high-pressure sales tactics. Our team not only helps you decide if your site is a good fit for solar, but helps you choose what is the best fit for your building. When our customers go solar, they feel confident in their decision and are as excited about the project as we are. This is our mission statement, and we stand behind it.

We want to see as much solar as possible on buildings, and we want home and building owners to feel confident in their decision and excited about their project. Through outreach and education, we refuse to let the actions of a few companies tarnish the reputation of the solar industry in general.
