One of our SSE team members attended the Energize CT Clean Energy Communities Award Ceremony this week. We were pleased to see that all of our Solarize towns had made significant strides in clean energy. All of them have established an energy task force, and have at least 10% of households participating in energy savings programs. Here are some stats for the towns we have participated in Solarize classic campaigns in.
Easton
Energy saved between January 2010-July 2015: 774,210 kWh
Emissions avoided equivalent to 470 tons of CO2 avoided, 82 cars off the road for one year, and 117 acres of trees planted
Essex
Energy saved between January 2010-July 2015: 2,051,115 kWh
Emissions avoided equivalent to 1,055 tons of CO2 avoided, 184 cars off the road for one year, 262 acres of trees planted.
Trumbull
Energy saved between January 2010-July 2015: 10,538,590 kWh
Emissions avoided equivalent to 5,800 tons of CO2 avoided, 911 cars off the road for one year, 1,438 acres of trees planted
