Earth Day is April 22nd, and we are seeing a lot of local community events and green fairs in our area. Volunteering on Earth Day is a great way to help preserve the environment and meet new people in your community. You can help by picking up trash in parks and streets, working with a community farm, or volunteering your time with an environmental organization or event.
If you’re still looking for ways to get involved or celebrate Earth Day, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection has compiled a comprehensive list of Earth Day events in Connecticut for 2011. Visit http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2688&q=322374&depNav_GID=1511
