Are you ready for the next round of the Oregon solar feed-in tariff? The next available slots will be released at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1st and we’re accepting applications for those interested in purchasing a solar electric system under this (very) limited program through Tuesday, March 29th.
Based on past releases, we expect this one to sell out in less than 5 minutes again and the next round won’t be released until October 1st. We just received word on Thursday, March 17th that the rate for this round has been decreased 20% instead of the expected 10% so time is of the essence with this popular incentive. The Public Utilities Commission has even proposed a lottery system that will be introduced for the October 1 release “to address the perceived unfairness” of the current process so you can see why this is such a time-sensitive issue.
The pricing structure for the April 1st release can be viewed here by county.
• $0.396/kWh paid for every solar kWh produced by Pacific Power customers living in Central Oregon
• $0.468/kWh paid to Pacific Power customers in Portland
• $0.432/kWh for PGE customers in Hood River; $0.468/kWh for PGE customers in all other areas
The rates shown above are for solar electric systems less than or equal to 10 kW in size. See the spreadsheet link above for a full description of rates by county and system size.
And a final reminder: the Oregon Feed-in Tariff program is only available to Pacific Power, Portland General Electric and Idaho Power customers interested in purchasing a solar electric system for their home or business. This does not apply to those interested in purchasing a solar water heating system, or those in any other electric utility territory (Central Electric Co-op, Mid-State Electric Co-op, and others).
Please do not hesitate to call us at (541) 322-1910 to request a copy of our Feed-in Tariff FAQs or if you have any questions at all about this incentive program.
