Sunlight Solar’s Last Community Solar Electric Event of 2008!
(Bend, OR) Sunlight Solar Energy of Bend will host their last Community Solar Electric Event of 2008 at Solaire Homebuilders on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The Community Event will consist of a 30-minute presentation on solar electric systems followed by a 30-minute Q&A period. The event will take place at Solaire Homebuilders’ Green Building Resource Center located at their main office at 593 NW York Drive in Northwest Crossing, Bend.
The first Community Event of Sunlight Solar’s Community Development program took place on Earth Day, April 22nd, of this year. Sunlight Solar has hosted a total of six Community Events at various locations throughout Bend since Earth Day.
The goals of the Community Development program are: (1) to provide an open forum to learn about solar electricity in a casual and comfortable environment, (2) to bring communities together to discuss factors affecting the applicability of solar electric (photovoltaic, PV) systems, and (3) to reduce the cost of a solar electric installation for event attendees with bulk purchasing rates.
SunPower, a leading PV components manufacturer, offers project discounts if multiple households purchase a PV system within two months following a Community Event. SunPower developed the Community Events program and event guidelines specifically for their Premier Dealers, of which Sunlight Solar is the only participant in Central Oregon.
