Sunlight Solar is the premier installer of solar electric (photovoltaic) products in the state of CT, and was the proud recipient of SunPower’s 2008 Intelegant Award!*  Since 2005, SSE has completed over 400 installations large and small for residential and commercial customers in Connecticut.

CT State Rebate
By far, the most popular incentive in Connecticut is the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) Rebate.  Most customers take advantage of the CCEF rebate by leasing their system.  You can read more about leasing below.

For purchasing, the CCEF also offers $1.75 per watt rebate for the first 5,000 watts and $1.25 per watt for the next 5,001 to 10,000 watts for grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) systems.  The total savings that the rebate provides on a PV system is about 20%. This applies to all CCEF certified systems. The rebate is passed on to the installer (Sunlight Solar Energy), who is responsible for conforming to CCEF’s standards for PV systems.  That means you do not need to pay the full price out of pocket and wait for your reimbursement; we take care of it all for you.  Systems subsidized by the CCEF may not be sized to cover more than 100% of your home’s electricity requirements.  Your requirements will be  determined by the average daily usage over the past 12 months.

Federal Tax Incentive
As of January 1, 2009, all solar electric and solar thermal installations are eligible for a 30% federal tax credit on the net cost of your system.  Combined with the CCEF rebate, this new tax incentive can help you take up to 45% off the cost of your system.

Home Energy Audits

Oftentimes, it may be helpful to have an energy audit performed on your home before a PV system is sized for you.  This is particularly helpful if your home is using exorbitant amounts of electricity on a daily basis.
