Blog 10/4/10: NEW CCEF Thermal Rates

Effective September 28, the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund Rebate Program incentive levels have changed. The rebate will now be based on the annual usable thermal output of the system, instead of the winter (October – March) output. Below is a table from the CCEF outlining the new incentive amounts:

Market Segment Original Rate (based on
winter output)
Original Rate (based on annual output) Proposed Rate (based on annual output)
Residential $500/MMBtu $200/MMBtu $270/MMBtu
Commercial For-Profit $500/MMBtu $200/MMBtu $450/MMBtu
Commercial Not-for-Profit $900/MMBtu $360/MMBtu $550/MMBtu

This is good news for residential homeowners, as the new rebate is higher than the old rebate. And don’t forget that customers who purchase a solar thermal system can also take advantage of a 30% Federal Tax Credit to help offset more of the cost.

If you have any questions regarding this rebate change or any other solar incentives, please call our office at (203) 878-9123 and Rachel Oxman will be able to go over the details with you and also schedule a free site evaluation.
