In addition to the credits you will receive from sending electricity back to the grid, you can also get paid for Renewable Energy Credits (REC) or “Green Tags.” REC’s are a kind of currency used in the energy trade and are the free market trading of the “renewable attributes” of your clean solar energy.
REC’s are simply the sum of the environmental benefits resulting from non-pollution energy production. In essence, you are selling a lack of pollution.
