Shade and Solar

Using a Pathfinder to measure shade on a roof.
Shade will significantly decrease the production of solar electric panels. We can approximate the amount of shade on your roof over the phone by looking at a satellite image of your home. However, if you decide to schedule a free site evaluation, a Systems Designer will climb on your roof with a device that measures shade called a Solar Pathfinder.
The Pathfinder will show exactly how much much shade is on your roof throughout the day and throughout the year. With this reading, we can tell you exactly how large your system can be without being covered by shade and the optimal spot on your roof to locate the solar panels or collectors.
In order to receive state rebates, we are required to take this reading before installing your system.
Call us to learn more about how suitable your roof is for solar and if state incentives will work in your favor. We work with all state rebate and incentive programs in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Oregon.
