(Portland, OR) Sunlight Solar is proud to announce the expansion of their current operations headquartered in Bend, Oregon, to an additional office in Portland since January 2010. Chance Currington will oversee Portland office operations as Project Manager for all solar electric and solar hot water projects throughout the Portland area, Willamette Valley, and Columbia Gorge regions.
Sunlight Solar was founded in 1988 in Sacramento, CA, and has been serving Oregon customers with solar installations since 1993. Last year while other companies in the construction industry were struggling with the depressed economy, Sunlight Solar Oregon saw its biggest growth in the history of the company. From 2008 to 2009, the number of installations completed increased by over 400%. Throughout 2009, Sunlight Solar installed approximately 16% of all the solar installations completed for Energy Trust of Oregon customers statewide. In December 2009, Sunlight Solar installed a 31.46-kW solar electric array atop SEKO Worldwide using panels from local manufacturer, Grape Solar, and they recently completed an installation made possible by federal stimulus funding on the new St. Helens Armory.
Chance Currington has been with Sunlight Solar since July 2007, and as Project Manager for Sunlight Solar (Bend), Chance managed several significant commercial and residential PV projects including Home Federal Bank’s Mill Quarter branch and the first LEED-certified Platinum home in Central Oregon. Chance has presented on a variety of topics including Commercial PV Installation Design at the 2008 Joint Engineering Conference in Bend, Oregon. He is a NABCEP Certified PV Installer and an Oregon Department of Energy Tax Credit Certified Technician, allowing him to offer turn-key system installation with the completion of incentive and tax credit applications.
